Breakfast Club
Nexus Care Inc is a not-for-profit organisation based in Flockton St, Everton Park. The heart of Nexus Care is to alleviate poverty in the local community by strengthening individuals and families. One of the key programs run by Nexus Care is the Fresh Start School Breakfast Program. This program helps ensure that children who are at risk of food insecurity are given a nutritious start to the day, and have the best possibly opportunity to succeed academically. Active School Travel program
Brisbane City Council's Active School Travel program educates and motivates students, parents and teachers to leave the car at home and actively travel.
Active School Travel encourages:
- street safe students
- less traffic at the school gate
- healthier students and parents
- a cleaner environment
- a strong school community
Benefits of being an Active School Travel school
Active School Travel schools are supported by a Council officer who provides guidance, support and resources to create a school travel plan and organise initiatives, including:
- weekly active travel days
- road safety skills
- walking groups
- park and stride
- bike skills training
- scooter skills training
- public transport programs
- active travel maps
- carpooling
