About Our EcoMarines Program
Our school is proud to be part of the EcoMarines Foundation, a Queensland-based not-for-profit organisation dedicated to creating a community of young environmental leaders. Through free environmental education programs, students and teachers engage in hands-on sustainability projects, connect with local businesses and industry experts, and collaborate with other schools across the region.
Each year, Student Ambassadors are selected to lead our school's EcoMarines initiatives, guided by a dedicated teacher. These ambassadors take on real environmental challenges in our school and local community, promoting sustainability through peer education, creative problem-solving, and leadership.

At Everton Park State School, we are committed to sustainable practices. Some of our ongoing projects include Waste Worries, a school-wide initiative where students learn to manage waste responsibly. Our comprehensive bin system helps us sort rubbish into general waste, poppers and cans for recycling, and compost bins for organic waste.
In recognition of our ongoing commitment to sustainability, Everton Park State School was proud to be awarded the Brisbane City Council 2025 WasteSmart School Award.
Through these initiatives, our students develop practical skills, environmental awareness, and lifelong habits that contribute to a healthier and more sustainable planet.
